Grade 7 - HOGS - My name is Jonah Dalton White I am 13 years old and a 7th grader at Bremond ISD. My project is a 270-pound barrow named Champ the Hamp that I have raised since birth for the Robertson County Fair Market Hog Show. I enjoy assisting at every stage of pig production from boar selection breeding birthing and weaning and then selecting and raising my own swine project. This year I have become better equipped to identify strengths and weaknesses in individual pigs and to see how these traits can be changed through exercise feeding and showing techniques. It has taken me a few years to produce the barrow that I have this year and I am very proud of how he has finished out. I am very grateful to the potential buyers and to the RCFA for helping all exhibitors during these unexpected circumstances.
