Grade 8 - HOGS -My name is Ja’Carius Schells and I’m in the 8th grade. My project this year was a cross hog. His name is Scooby. He has a lot of energy when I go to feed him he stands on his hind legs with his front two on the pen. I learned how to be responsible waking up early every morning to feed and feeding again in the evening and that it’s important to follow the correct feeding measurements carefully. I learned that when I overfed him it caused him to gain too much weight at the wrong time. Due to that I had to feed him special feed to hold him and worked hard to maintain his weight until the right time. I spent much time working with my hog by walking him bathing him and cleaning the pen and changing the shavings. It was fun spending time with my hog.
