Hello! My name is Morgann Kenney I am 13 years old and I am in the QI Roberts FFA chapter in Putnam County. This is my first year in FFA but I was previously in 4-H and showed my first hog last year at the fair. This year was my first year raising a steer and a heifer for the fair along with a hog and I was super excited to show off my awesome steer that I was very proud of! Now I will never know how good they actually are compared to others which is heartbreaking all because of the Putnam County Fair being cancelled due to the Coronavirus.
I am selling both my steer and swine this year via this auction site. My steer is a Sem/Mainex steer weighing about 1300 lbs. To break even I am looking for around $2.10/lb.
With my money that I earn from Fair I always put it in my savings account. I use this money for my next years project with buying the animal feed and any utilities I may need to purchase. I am hoping that I will be able to replenish my account so I can buy more animals to raise again next year.
