LR Tornado was another ¾ x ¼ Simbrah bull that like Bonanza was a National Champion back in the days when there were a lot of % cattle being produced to create Simbrah. IZBA had a % show for these cattle that had lots of entries. I can remember having 15 to 20 heifers in some classes. Tornado was a larger bull than was Bonanza, was dark cherry red and was out of a Fleckvieh based heavy milking F-1 cow that my Dad bought from Fitzhugh-Strauss, a Fleckvieh breeder from the San Antonio area. He was extremely long, big boned and good looking with a ton of muscle.
He will add breed character, color, milk, NEW BLOOD and market demand let alone the excitement that this NEW BLOOD can create in the form of hybrid vigor. I wish that our area was better suited for Simmy cows so that we could use this semen to produce some new lines of Simbrah. We have very little semen left on these three bulls so if interested, we recommend that you buy semen in the one you like the best or in all of them if you have enough cows.
