A former show cow for the ranch whose dam and maternal grandam were both Houston International Grand Champion females! This cow is very gentle and can still be set up in the pasture with a show stick. She is a big, deep bodied impressive cow. Cow family wise, there aren’t many bred this well. The Avery daughters make tremendous mothers and are very fertile and productive. If you study all the sires in the cow’s pedigree you will note that all are known as sires of good productive brood cows. 11 of her ancestors are Register of Renown animals and both grandsires are former Houston Grand champion bulls – Liberty and 901/4.

This cow will be a pleasure to own. She has beautiful phenotype, a great disposition, and a wonderful pedigree, plus impressive EPD’s. Her full sister in the sale, Miss V8 129/7, is also the same exact type cow, only a smaller version. An interesting note on these two full sisters, is the maternal great grandam, +Lady Bevo 910/1. This is a female bred by Herman Beville from Bushnell, Florida that was solid black in pigment.  In 1980, Mr. Beville turned Sloan loose in his cow herd and allowed him to pick his top 10 cows and his top 10 yearling heifers. Sloan flew to Florida and Marcus Shackleford picked him up and took him to the Beville Ranch. Mr. Beville had a large herd of cattle (300 plus) and he and Marcus were great friends and Marcus really knew the Beville cattle. Sloan and Marcus considered the 910/1 heifer the best heifer Mr. Beville had born in 1979, maybe one of his best ever. She came back to Texas and was a tremendous ET donor that was very fertile and produced many great females for us including the International Champion +Miss V8 165/4. Many of the great cows that have walked the pasture of V8 trace back to this one cow. Ask Marcus about this cow (and also the whole trip as he and Sloan had a great time with many stories!)
