One of the more progressive young ranchers in our community is our ole buddy Asa Cozad. His late father Johnny was a big believer in rotational grazing and inspired his son to grow the business and share their ideas with other ranchers wanting to increase their carrying capacity and blacken their bottom lines. I remember Johnny was a member of a Ranching for Profit Co-op kind of team effort where several ranchers met regularly to share ideas and help each other progress.
Grazing 101:
Join Asa Cozad of the Cozad Ranch for a one-on-one, two-day grazing school. 1st day will include a visit to the Cozad Ranch where you will spend the day observing their cattle operation and how this operation implements holistic grazing principles. Such principles include but aren’t limited to combining beef animals into a single herd, daily moves, high stock density, range recovery, and animal performance. Asa will also cover the ins and outs of electric fencing and water infrastructure. 2nd day will include a visit to your property within a 120 mile radius of Linn, TX. Asa will consult with you about your property and your desired course of action to improve your range and maximize profit per acre on your property.
