As I reflect on another year of being involved in the registered cattle business, I am grateful for both the lessons that I have learned from the failures that this year has brought, as well as the priceless moments that I have experienced from our successes. During this moment of reflection, I cannot help but experience the emotion of gratitude for what all we have been able to accomplish this year. With that said, it brings me great pleasure to donate the first ever set of embryos to sell out of my partnership champion Simbravieh donor LMC Bon Qui Qui.
Bon as we call her for short is a smooth polled Simbravieh donor that is made to help you produce your share of champion American show cattle. She is one of the most capacious Simbravieh females ever produced here at La Muneca, that also features a stout structure, angularity and just enough leather in all the right places. Her sire LMC LF Revelee was a polled, powerhouse that combined thickness with the style that made us appreciate the Simbravieh breed. Rev’s impeccable pedigree put together some of the most elite genetics of the Simbrah and Braunvieh breeds including LM Rob’s Muneca 3E-89, HR Powerhouse I, FG Bess and the famous Vernon bull just to name a few.
Bon’s dam is a long bodied, good uddered WTR Jolt daughter that has done us a solid job of raising high performing calves like Bon. She goes back to LMC Titan and Ward’s Bravo, two super bulls that we used heavily in our program through the years. Titan's grand dam was a phenomenal Simmental cow called Jetliner that is one of the best beef cows my Dad has ever seen. Jolt was a Vernon x Admiral cross that was a popular cross in the early Braunvieh days. Vernon is the one common denominator found in many championship Braunvieh pedigrees over the past 20 years. He is also the sire to the great WTR Baylee cow who is Revelee's dam making Bon a linebred Vernon. Lots of genetic power behind this donor.
When we decided to flush Bon with our goal being to produce highly competitive American show cattle, the choice was clear amongst my partners and that was to go with the red hot Here I Am bull of Rodgers Cattle Company. This Walks Alone son’s impressive phenotype is matched by his progeny’s performance record in both the sale and show ring. We have not had any calves by this mating yet, but we remain confident in our breeding decision and look forward to seeing what it has in store for the fortunate buyer of this initial embryo offering. Bon was flushed at Ovagenix, where the embryos have been stored since collection in Bryan, TX.
