What started off with a January 1st raffle winning deer hunt for Andrew Cano has turned in to a great friendship for the Cano families and our family along with several youth organizations. Andrew’s Grandma won our annual deer hunt we would raffle off at the STAR show. After we loaded Andrew’s buck, we got to talking about camp food, BBQ and Pan de Campo. James, Andrew’s father, got to talking about how his family had a special recipe and he offered to cook us some that afternoon at our camp and the rest is history.
Two weeks later was our first STAR GALA at our LMC barn and their Pan de Cano was a huge hit as an appetizer. Together with Benny Cano, no kin to James, they teamed up and offered a carne guisada dinner for 50 that sold for $1,750 and we sold two of them. They were ecstatic and since then have raised over $100,000 selling these great meals at the STAR GALA, LSMCIC Round-Ups plus a few special events. They have sold for as much as $4,000 sometimes. Their Pan is so good we changed the name to “Pan de Cano”.
They are great for family reunions, quincenieras, graduations or wedding rehearsal parties. Expires one year after Hidalgo County lifts the Covid-19 Crowd Restrictions of less than 50 people.
