Lot 179 - JACKSON MCDANIEL - RABBITS

Grade 4 - RABBITS - My name is Jackson McDaniel and I am a member of the Bows and Bullets 4H Club. This year I did a market rabbit project which means that I had to breed my two does and raise their babies called kits. Every day before and after school I had to feed and water my rabbits. In the winter I installed a heat lamp to keep them warm. When the kits were born the real challenge began. I weighed handled and brushed them checked their teeth eyes and toes and practiced showmanship every third day to prepare for the County Fair. Some things happened this year that I couldn’t control. For example one of my kits died unexpectedly and the fair was cancelled. By raising rabbits this year I learned that keeping a good attitude is important during hard times.
