Grade 8 - RABBITS - I’m Matthew Hall the son of Jeff and Mary Hall of New Baden. I raise and show Market Rabbits and am an 8th grader at Franklin MS. When you are able to have an opportunity to raise livestock you learn a lot of things some of which include responsibility and perseverance. I am responsible to feed water and check my rabbits for injuries everyday. There are times that their cages split and break on the bottom. I spend time repairing the cages and making sure the rabbits aren’t harmed. While raising rabbits I’ve learned you need perseverance. Our fair is the only one around that requires us to breed our own rabbits. If our rabbits don’t breed or if the babies die we don’t have a project to show so perseverance through the year is a must. I have learned a lot throughout the fair. Thank you for this opportunity.
