Grade 6 - BROILERS - Hi my name is Kade Kram. I am a 6th grader at Franklin Middle School. I was always trying to get my parents to let me show chickens. I saw my friends showing animals and they seemed to enjoy it. This year I finally talked my parents into letting me show chickens and I will tell you it was a fun project. Sadly the fair did not happen this year. This year raising chickens I learned many new and interesting things. You have to check on the chickens several times a day. When you check on the chickens you have to look for the following: temperature low on water low on feed and if they need new shavings. One thing I was shocked by is that chickens really like bacon grease! You will also get VERY DIRTY! Overall raising chickens this year was a fun and educational experience.
