Over the years, we have tried to keep our top polled females, but decided to share one in this sale. Polled Syrah is dark cherry red, feminine, big boned and heavy muscled. Not only does she possess an outstanding phenotype, but has a Red Brahman pedigree that is top of the line. Her two grandsires are +Winchester Magnum 999 and +3H X-Ray 825 - it doesn't get much better than that.
Polled Syrah is sired by KR Hennessey Brick 500 which we call Vino. Vino is sired by +Winchester Magnum 999, which has had as big an impact on the Red Brahman breed as any Red Bull in history and out of a Fontenot bred + 3X He's Got The Look 40/2 daughter. We purchased Vino as a young calf after he was Reserve Calf Champion at the RGVLS because we felt that like his sire, he had the potential to add bone, power, width and substance to our herd. On the bottoms side, Polled Syrah is out of our smooth polled donor LN Polled Rayne 191/1. Polled Rayne is sired by +3H X-Ray 825 and has also produced two of La Negra's up and coming polled red donors LN Polled Rayleigh and LN Polled Raynebow all sired by different bulls.
Polled Syrah will be breeding age soon and is the kind of female that will go on to produce the money making kind of Polled Red Brahman offspring.
