Selling Pick of the litter of three V8 794/7 x LMC LF Polled Diva Baby Show & Donor Prospects. Decision to be made by August 31, 2020.
It has always been a practice for us to introduce a drip of NEW BLOOD every year. It works, we turn into a drop the next year and if not, we try something else. We like to use semen from a new bull or maybe buy a retiring show heifer from a junior or a flush from a proven donor, all are good. Two years ago, we invested in semen on V8 794/7 (P) to use on our great POLLED Donor – LMC LF Polled Diva. IT WORKED GREAT!
We sold the pick to our good buddie Mackie Simpson who has done very well with her as she helped him win the TJLA Grey Brahman, Region 5, Showmanship and Overall Jackets last year. LMC LF Polled Mabel won 3 Supreme Championships along with over 15 Grand or Reserve Championships. We sold another full sib to La Roca Range (see photo below) as their foundation Polled Brahman. We recently sold the third one which was my pick for a MAMA COW to Dr. James & Rebecca Lillard from Tennessee. All three are outstanding females.
This year we are offering something very unique in that one of the three baby dolls selling has tested HOMZYGOUS POLLED which means that all of her calves will be polled regardless of whether you breed her to a Polled or Horned bull. This is an added benefit but does not mean that she is the best of the three. If you are a horned breeder looking to infuse some polled genetics, this may be your answer as you can use your bulls and know that you will get at least one polled calf per year.
We were going to keep one to turn this drip of NEW BLOOD into a drop but could not make up our minds so we decided to offer the Brahman World our freshest genetics and let you guys decide which is the best for your program. We love all three and look forward to their progressive impact on the breed. 1A (204/9) was born 12/31/2019 and is the prettiest. 2A (1/0) was born 1/5/2020 and is the heaviest muscled. 1C (2/0) was born 1/7/2020 is the HOMOZYGOUS POLLED heifer that many think is also the prettiest with all having the potential to improve your program and help the breed grow. As you can see in the below photo, their dam is one of our best POLLED donors and IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS. Her sire is our popular LMC Polled Sambo. He is A BEEF MACHINE as is his sire and Register of Renown Polled Dam. Their maternal grand dam, JDH 993 is 4F’s best cow and has produced herd sires for ERB Cattle Co, Albert de Leon, a RGVLS Grand Champion Brahman steer for Pops and a full donor sister for 4F. She goes back to the great (+)JDH Atlas Manso. Polled Diva produced a herd bull sired by Polled Phenom for Samuel Moore.
Their sire is the popular V8 794/7 (P) who has A HALL of FAME pedigree, is a son of the massive champion V8 191/7 who is one of the better +JDH Avery Manso sons ever produced. 191/7’s dam is the famous +V8 464/6 who won both Houston and the World Brahman Congress. She was sired by the powerful (+) JDH Mr. Charley’s Manso. Throw in +V8 188/5 and you have one of the more productive V8 cow families in history. We all know that great herds are built around great families !! These heifers have lots of goodness top and bottom. They are some of the first to sell from V8 794/7 (P)
Sellers are retaining two IVF aspirations. Buyer will receive two units of semen to AI this cow (with one ABBA AI certificate) from any 4F or LMC sire that semen is available on. Eligible for all LMC & 4F Junior Benefits.
